One Year

We made it a whole year!
Monday, Aug 13th was our ONE YEAR anniversary!  Crazy, huh?  Obviously we chose to celebrate all weekend.

Friday night we went down to Manhattan and spent the evening in the Temple.  It was wonderful.  We left the Temple late that evening and were very happy to find the Gelato stand open again at the Lincoln Center.  We went there once or twice last year.  Still delicious.

The next day we went on a dinner cruise around Manhattan!  It was awesome and SO much fun!  The city was gorgeous, and it really was the perfect night.  We ate yummy food, enjoyed the views, and danced the night away.

We even got a Slurpee on the way home.

 Ryan was tired.

The best part was when we got home, I opened the fridge to get some water, and beautiful flowers were in there for me!  I had worked in the morning, and I guess Ryan had picked them up and put them in there while I was gone.  We left for the cruise pretty soon after I got home, so I hadn't even seen them.  Ryan is the cutest.  I was totally surprised!

Monday evening (our actual anniversary) we went to PF Changs for dinner (thought we'd be really sentimental and go where we had dinner the night before we got married).  Super random coincidence, but we got the SAME fortune!  We asked our waiter about it, and he was shocked and told us he'd never seen that happen!  The fortune said: "The love of your life will appear in front of you unexpectedly!"   Must mean we're meant to be.

We got home and enjoyed some anniversary cake.  We didn't save the top of our wedding cake, so I went to a bakery here and asked for the same kind of cake to be made for us.  It was really yummy...maybe even better than a cake that would have sat in a freezer for a whole year.

One year later, and we still love each other.  Guess that's a good thing.
One down, eternity to go.
