Congratulations to Matt and Ali Hoffman! We had the chance to go to Texas for their wedding last week. Ryan served his mission in the San Antonio Mission and was stoked to go back for the first time. Perfect excuse.
We flew to Austin on Tuesday- first stop: Rudy's Bar-B-Q. YUM! Turns out Texas BBQ is amazing. We also loved the Austin skyline and headed to the Capitol Building. Beautiful.
We met up with our friend Justin at our hotel and went swimming Tuesday afternoon. It was so HOT!
Wednesday was the big day! Matt and Ali are the most adorable couple in the world. It was so obvious how much they loved each other!
They were sealed in the San Antonio Temple, and everything was perfect. It was a beautiful ceremony, and they couldn't stop smiling! I loved it.
The reception was at a gorgeous golf club in Round Rock that evening. Ryan and Matt tag-teamed DJing, and it was an awesome party. Everything was so fun, and it was awesome to see some great friends, as well as make new ones!
Thursday, we woke up and headed to the airport and attempted to fly home. We only made it to Atlanta. Apparently NY was having some crazy storms and our flight was delayed, delayed, delayed, and then eventually cancelled. We stayed the night at this really awesome hotel in Atlanta, though, so it was alright. But I didn't have my luggage. Back in Austin, they asked volunteers to check their bags for free because it was a full flight, and they didn't think there would be enough room in the overhead compartments. Never doing that again. I looked pretty beat the next day.
Room service.
We made it back to New York! Found my bag in the sea of lost luggage from all the cancellations into NY the previous night. There were HUNDREDS of bags- this really is a small portion.
Despite the flight being cancelled, it was such a fun mini-vacation. We loved being in Texas- everyone is so friendly there! And we're so happy for Matt and Ali!
