Love Day

Valentine's celebrating started early at the Denny's this year.  I got this cute idea from Pinterest to surprise your hubby everyday starting Feb 1 with little surprises based on their love languages.  Each day he opened one of these and a little card that I hid in secret spots.  I think Ryan loved the idea.
How crafty and lovey-dovey of me.  I know.

Then the Lind's had an awesome Valentine's party at their place.  We played the funnest couples games and had really yummy cheese and chocolate fondue.  Basically the perfect night with our best friends.

Valentine's Day was pretty perfect.
I came home tired from the longest day of work ever (SAT results came out, and it was mostly just call after call of disgruntled parents expecting higher scores.  I can't tell you how many times I heard..."After 5 months of tutoring, you'd think the scores would be up another hundred points!").
What I came home to was magical.  Dishes done, rooms swept, surfaces dusted, bedroom cleaned, and Ryan on his hands and knees scrubbing out the bathtub.  He didn't expect me when I walked through the door and got up to kiss me- he totally smelled like cleanser, and I literally started crying.  Best. Surprise. Ever.
Don't get me wrong, I love getting flowers delivered to me at work.  I can't say it enough!  Something about looking and smelling them all day on your desk is the best.  But a super clean house?  Just priceless.  That to me is what true love is all about.
We made dinner together and enjoyed each other's company for a few hours.  Dinner was pretty amazing.  I made a Ceasar salad with a little parm heart, heart-shaped red potatoes, meatloaf (I know, so romantic! ha!), and these oh-so-perfect-words-can't-describe salted caramel brownies, with a little sparkling apple on the side.

The whole day went a little something like this:

And tonight, we are going to Del Posto.  I don't know what to wear.  I don't know what to have Ryan wear.  My boss got us this gift certificate for Christmas, and I've been DYING to go but also super nervous at the same time.  Don't worry, we'll blog all about it after.
And then, we're staying here.
City Club Hotel NYC.  Can't even wait.
