New Car

We did it.  We bought a new car.

Our poor '96 Honda Accord wasn't doing so hot when we left for Utah last week, and we both knew car shopping was going to be inevitable.  We decided that we would designate Friday as a day to try to fix the car and/or go car shopping.  But when we hopped in the car Friday afternoon, it wouldn't even go.  Dead.
Our gracious friends, the Pitneys, let us borrow one of their cars to go shopping for a few hours.
[Quick detour- they let us borrow their Civic, which is a stick shift.  Best moment of my life?  Driving a stick across the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan, bumper-to-bumper traffic, at 5:30pm.  Tell me you're not impressed.  Major left leg workout.]

Well, Ryan came home with this bad boy.  Meet our new Ford Escape.

Ry was such a trooper through the whole thing.  We had to be in New Rochelle (like an hour from where we were) by 6:30 and needed to pick some people up on the way.  Ryan stayed at the dealership to sign papers, contracts, haggle, etc. while I left.  He ended up being there for like 6 hours!

Anyway, we love it.

My favorite features include (but are definitely not limited to): the giant sunroof, the black leather interior, the built-in bluetooth and the whole microsoft sync system (who knew cars could be better than Siri!?), the color, the four-wheel drive, and of course, the boy I get to share it with.  Our car!

Accord, you will be missed.  All 223,000 miles of you.  But before we can miss you, we need to figure out a way for you to get out of our garage.

We're getting good at adventures.
