Giving Thanks

Our Thanksgiving started early this year.  At 3:30 a.m. our alarms went off, and we hopped in the shower and rushed to get ready.  We swiftly walked to the train to make the 5:11 to Grand Central to catch a subway to catch another subway and walk a couple blocks until we made it to 73rd and Central Park Ave. for the
MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE!
Every year growing up, I can remember my mom waking me up early to watch the parade.  And even if we didn't see the whole thing, we always made it in front of the TV in time to see the real Santa Claus ride his sleigh at the end.  And seeing it live made waking up so early worth it. We seriously took so many pictures!  It was amazing!

We arrived at 6:40 and put our chairs about 4 rows from the police line.  We were SO close!  Once everyone stood up, we just kept moving even closer!

By 7 am there were SO many people!

The whole Sesame St. gang!

Cee Lo Green!

Cobra Starship!

Oh, hey Neil Diamond!

Ronald's deflated foot!

Straight No Chaser!

Saw the REAL Santa Claus!

So much confetti everywhere!

We'd decorated cookies and a tree in our living room in preparation for Thanksgiving!  On each leaf, we wrote the things we're thankful for.  Your name is probably on one. :)

And of course, Thanksgiving dinner! We had the feast with the Pitneys', and it was wonderful.  I'd say we did a pretty good job making sure all the bases were covered. :)

We really missed our family, but it was nice to celebrate together with some great friends too!  We're so grateful for everything we've been blessed with!  Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!
