Saturday afternoon, we headed to East Chester to buy a Christmas tree only to discover a 5 ft tree would cost us $110! So snuck out of the nursery quietly and left not knowing where to go. We'd been so excited to finally have a Christmas tree! And every other place we'd looked up was too far north and we'd never make it before any of them closed! So we decided to go for a drive. We ended up in Chappaqua. A quick Google search, and we found Bill Clinton's house. Too bad he or Hillary weren't outside.
And apparently he lives down the street from Pleasantville (remember that movie??)
The drive home just kept getting prettier! So we kept our spirits up.
We got home and did some more searches, assuming we'd just go the following Saturday to get one. And then we found it. The White Plains Fire Department sells Christmas trees til 8pm! We rushed over there. So excited. As you can see, the Fireman was helping us secure it to the car.
He's so strong!
Unfortunately when we got into our building, the apartment complex mother (and busybody...) told us,
"You can't have that! It's against your lease! Check your lease!"
For the next 2 hours we proceeded to check our lease AND New York State laws. We can't find anything. So we're keeping it. :)
